Helsinki Metro currently operates three different train types on the system: M100, M200 & M300. The M100, which is of Finnish origin, is the oldest and currently most common train type on the system. The newer M200 series was ordered from Bombardier to expand the systems capacity in the early 2000's. The newest train is the Spanish-made M300, which was ordered to suit for the demand of more train capacity with the continuation of the metro line to the west. Other rolling stock includes work cars, maintenance equipment and some related freight cars.
